Let’s face it, daily hair washes are a thing of the past. Sorry! You just won’t have time. You can choose to trust me and pick up your can of Batiste (so many lovely fragrances to choose from) or you can live in denial with oily hair.
Leggings and Then Some
It’s the mom uniform, just rock it! Don’t let anyone tell you they’re not real pants. You pushed a baby out of your……. They’re comfy, go with anything, and if you choose black can hide the inevitable spit up stains. It really doesn’t get any better than leggings and you never want to be out, then you might have to wear….. blue jeans (cue dramatic music).
A Quick Coffee Maker
Sorry, it’s time to ditch the French Press. You can keep it around for company or the dwindling hope of having more morning time, but for now stick to something you can do with minimal work and cleaning. You’ll probably have to warm your cup up 15 times anyway, so give yourself one less thing to do for your java. Personally, I love our Kueirg.
A Cute Hat
Sometimes dry shampoo just isn’t enough. Hats are so in right now anyway. Lucky us!!
A Great Shower Gel
There is one and I mean one time during the day when you are (almost) guaranteed some time to yourself. The shower— warm, relaxing, refreshing, ah the best part of the day. Make the most of it and invest in a shower gel you love. It can make those 15 minuets or so feel like a spa getaway.
A back brace/heating pad/massager/etc.
“Oh my aching back!” From picking up a little one all day, to bending down for the toy on the floor 15 times, to unloading the dishwasher, etc. Well, if you haven’t figured this one out yet, I will be the bearer of bad news. Your back is probably going to hurt, like very day. Find a daily, safe solution or two so you can avoid popping pain killers like they’re candy.
Closed Toed Shoes for Every Season
If you don’t have time to wash your hair every day, you definitely won’t have time to paint your toenails on the regular. Please, for sake of your sanity, manage the mani/pedi from time to time, but have some cute closed toed shoes for all times of the year (even summer) just to be on the safe side. The world doesn’t need to see your hairy toes and 1 inch long jagged nails…. ewwwww!!!
Quick Snack Options/ Ready Shakes/ etc.
This probably should have been number one. There have been so many times that I have spent a considerable amount of time and effort packing my sons bottles and snacks only to realize I’ve run out of time to get anything for myself. I learned early on to stash a granola bar or two in his diaper bag for emergencies when we’re on the go. Even at home, I sometimes just don’t have time to sit down and eat when I want to. Easy to grab snacks and shakes can help you keep your energy up when meal prep and time is far away.
